Thank you for visiting the Media Studies @ Guilsborough Academy Sixth Form blog.
Our cohort are currently studying the AS and A Level Media Studies qualification by
OCR. We have designed a course which places a strong emphasis on student guided learning; this engages our pupils as they can undertake an area of study that most interests them.
We also believe in the value of teaching skills which industries require, and to that end, ensure our pupils learn not only how to understand media texts, but also how to create them.
Media Studies as an A Level is due for redevelopment this year. Information on the new course can be found here. We intend to keep as much of the practical content from the previous course, whilst embracing the broader subject content on offer.
